About
Hi, I'm Caryne
My passion is making bariatric dietetics accessible, practical and empowering.
I'm a New Zealand Registered Dietitian specialising in metabolic and bariatric surgery. I trained in the UK and began my career in the NHS, where I first specialised in bariatric nutrition.
I moved to New Zealand in 2012 and for over 11 years led the bariatric dietetic service at Waitematā. I worked closely with surgeons and clinical nurse specialists to design and deliver patient-centred pathways, so people got the right nutrition support before and after surgery.
In 2023 I moved into private practice. I enjoy working more directly with people and tailoring care to their own goals, circumstances and needs.
My approach
Care that adapts to you
Bariatrics is always changing. Social media shapes how people share their experiences, new medications are arriving, and we're learning more about how factors like neurodiversity affect weight and eating. Good dietetic care keeps up with that.
